Shaggy Posted February 16, 2017 Share Posted February 16, 2017 Your ingame Name: Steph Server you were banned / muted on?: Minigames Your Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:42086553 Date / Time of Ban: 01-22-17 01:42 Admin that banned or muted (if known): Deadly Mullet Reason for ban (if known): Saying nigger in chat Why I should be unbanned / unmuted: Obviously I'm not Steph but as far as I'm aware, she is banned from KZG servers, teamspeak, and the forums as well, meaning that she isn't even able to defend herself from what was quite a ridiculous ban. The rules that pertain directly to this case are as follows: 2. Be respectful to everyone. Racism, discrimination, and harassment based on gender, age, sex, religion, and any other aspect is prohibited 3. No racial or religious slurs. Steph was using the word nigger in chat, however she wasn't using it to racially vilify or insult anybody, she was just using the word because other members of the community were using it at the time, whether through using their microphone or otherwise. I am aware that she was warned not to use the word on more than one occasion, however, a lengthy gag/silence would have been more than sufficient in preventing her from using the racial slur. A permanent ban is going well above and beyond what was required in this instance. Furthermore, the admin that banned her didn't witness much of anything at all. He essentially joined and then banned her without any context as to what was actually happening on the server. Lastly, I would like to point out that her ban was handed out almost a full month ago. Considering that she hasn't been allowed to play on your servers for that amount of time already, surely the ban can be replaced by either a lengthy silence or a formal warning at this point. She is not a racist/aggressive person which is no excuse for using such language, but I do believe it's grounds to replace the permanent ban with atleast a permanent silence which I personally believe should have been the first approach to this incident. Which is why she's banned off of all three. She's been banned 4 times for multiple reasons for different amounts. The first time she was banned was for choosing the same map game on lego multigames after repeatedly being told not to by myself and acid. The second time she was banned was for breaking platforms on mario course, which would result in everyone being slayed so the round could restart and it wasn't broken. Even after giving countless warnings, she still did it after knowing the consequences. The fourth time she was banned was for delaying for 2 weeks consistently, making admins have to come on just to slay her and ruining everyone elses experience. The final time was after being repeatedly warned not to use racial slurs on the server, being told that anyone who would do so would be banned instantly. I was told by multiple people that her and spunno were, I checked the chat logs and as you can see from thrashers reply, she was spamming it. The point is in every situation she has made it clear that she does not give a fuck when it comes to an admin asking her what to do, and will ruin peoples experience on the server when given the opportunity. To address the evidence against her above. She was using the word consistently, sure. But she wasn't being offensive so as I said before, a lengthy silence would have been more than sufficient in dealing with the situation. She has been a part of KZG for quite a while now and she has 4 bans in total, all of which have been due to incredibly minor offences that admins could have dealt with at the time. But instead, it seems she is always being banned, by you, with very few warnings (Slays/Kicks count as warnings, by the way). I remember being banned by you twice. The first time being due to my support of a member that disagreed with you. And the second time, you assumed I was exploiting a map when it wasn't even me at all. I don't know what your issue is but the way you've treated myself, Steph, and others that we know has felt personal and unwarranted. You can't honestly look at Steph's bans and think to yourself: "Someone like that does not deserve to play on our servers." Being on the server for quite a while isn't a reason not to be banned, and the entire time she's been on the server she's only ever caused issues for admins. And the reason why I'm the one who has banned her in the past is because none of the new staff members were admins then and the rest were inactive. The first time you were banned was for bad mouthing with one of your friends who had come on to tell us our server was shit, and the second time was you jokingly admitting that you were exploiting the map after I had warned you all not to do so. But regardless of those points, it has nothing to do with her ban. Yes... I can, she doesn't deserve to play on kzg with her attitude. No admin should have to constantly watch a player and be messaged and poked on steam and teamspeak to address the one player or group of players. It has nothing to do with my job, if she wasn't constantly making the admins life difficult on mg, teamspeak and the forums, then she wouldn't have been banned.
