Note that if you have unspent stars, you will have until May 15th to spend them, after which they will expire. Premier Competitive and Retakes were popular and are sticking around. [CS:GO Update] In support of the Negev
by KZG Bot- 4 replies
- 1.4k views
When we reworked the Negev last year, the goal was to identify a supporting role for the weapon. The Negev featured attributes that promoted suppressive fire — ineffective at first, but a controllable beam of death moments later. At this point it’s clear that the upside of the weapon isn’t enough to compensate for its downsides, so we’re making additional adjustments. The goal hasn’t changed, but the implementation is a little different. First, the good news: the Negev is now a little cheaper, a burst of several bullets is now more useful (at short and medium range, at least), and the “beam” starts a little sooner. With its improved ability to deal damage in short bu…

[CS:GO Update]Squelching the Noise

We take feedback about communication abuse seriously, and in the past we’ve shipped settings that let customers control their exposure to other players’ avatars, names, and voice/text chat. (You can find these in Settings->Game->Communication and on the scoreboard). The settings are useful, but they have the downside of squelching communication indiscriminately. So we’ve been working on a new system that will work more precisely. When the new system is fully deployed, players will receive a warning if they receive significantly more abuse reports than other players. If they ignore that feedback and continue to receive abuse reports, they’ll receive a penalty: the…

The Rio Major will take place in November and, as the only Major of 2020, the prize pool will be $2,000,000. It will have been more than a year since the last Major. To ensure that the Rio Major features the top teams in the world, we will require that current Legends and Challengers demonstrate that they are still in top form. Due to the difficulty in travel for the foreseeable future, we’re going to do that regionally. Regional Major Rankings All teams participating in the November Rio Major will earn their invites through regional rankings, which will be updated based on their performance in upcoming Regional Major Ranking competitions. Teams competing in an RMR…
