I am on a lot when I can be (currently I am not on a lot. I will not be on until November 9th as that is when I will become more available). Qualities I can bring to Killzone Gaming: I know the rules and am willing to give fair punishments (please take note that I specify fair punishments). I believe that I will be one of the most unbiased staff members KZG has ever seen. If my best friend, with his dying breath, broke the rules, I would mute him. It is the right thing to do. I do not believe in leniency. I do not believe in 'cutting slack'. This is unprofessional, biased behaviour that should not be allowed by any staff. I firmly believe that I can act as a role model, and stand as a pillar of the KZG skill surf community to abide by, and uphold the rules. I will create a safe space, free of negativity, harassment, slurs, doxxing, and worst of all, mic spam. In an ideal world, we would have an automated chat and voice filter, that would enable us to keep communication clean, safe, and appropriate for the server (and of course, context, as playful banter must be allowed); however, that does not exist. I am willing to step up for the sake of the KZG community and ensure that (while I am on) the server is filled only with positivity, helpful surf advice, and faces in reaction to good runs, or choked runs (I believe these are integral to fostering a positive, supportive and collaborative community, and should be made an automated feature, such as the audio line when people break a turbo master record, which I firmly believe should be removed as a feature. Please comment if you would like to hear more thoughts about this as I think about it a lot). KZG is notorious for having players that are toxic. This is evident through Sourcebans (bans.kzg.gg [Internet] 2022) where many people are getting muted every day, and often try to evade. This leads to me my next point. Evasion undermines the essential dogma of retributive justice (Hogan, R., Emler, N.P. (1981). Retributive Justice. In: Lerner, M.J., Lerner, S.C. (eds) The Justice Motive in Social Behavior. Prisons do not allow prisoners to walk free, as they pose further threat to society and in order to encourage reformation, must be punished (appropriately, and refractory to each offence, with account of prior offences, demonstrators of chronic attitudinal and behavioural issues that are incompatible with the KZG Skill Surf community.) I will strive to report evaders to higher-ups who can ban them (as moderators cannot permanently ban alternate accounts). Finally, I believe that staff members should be as approachable, if not more, than any other player on the server. I believe that staff members must be open to feedback, criticisms, praise, everything that can be encountered and provide positive or negative reinforcement both to the individual staff member, and the team as a whole. I will strive to act as a point of contact with the community, similar to Head Admin Skoll who I believe is a role model in this aspect (please note, Skoll does not vouch for me, I am simply saying he is an excellent staff member who acts as a positive role model). To summarise: - Mature - Unbiased - Willing to uphold the sanctity of punishment, and the removal of evaders as they are a poison to the KZG community (until they are reformed, then we can be friends again) - Motivated - Open to feedback I hope this explains the qualities I can bring to KZG.
