KZG Windows App

Hello KZG,

So i have thought about creating a KZG App for a while now and have finally decided to do it, The idea is instead of opening Chrome you would just have to open the program. This means less processing power getting wasted on unnecessary tools within most browsers.

This will be greatly optimised when later in development.

I would eventually love to integrate this into a phone app for both IOS and Android when i have a more stable version.

It is still in Version 0.1.0 which is first release. Currently it only is the basic website with no border. I would love everyone to test the hell out of it and post any bugs below as it would help me greatly.

The App runs of Electron.js which is a Node JS module for creating apps, an example of a great app made with this is Discord!

 

Below is the Repository where you can download the source code and the installer(combined):

To install first Download and extract the folder to somewhere you want to put it.

Then go to release-builds/windows-installer and either run the setup.msi or app-setup.exe

All files install under %LocalAppData%

In the Repo is all the source code (which isn't much at current state)

Just remember if you get confused by everything not to be daunted by all the files and just go to release-builds/windows-installer and run either setup.msi or app-setup.exe

 

Would love for everyone to test this and find bugs and exploits! The more you find the better it will be!

Also give me ideas on what to add!

So do I need to run setup.exe every time to open it or does it install a shortcut?

Most likely creates a shortcut like every other program after setup.

Didn't seem to offer a install location when setting up nor created a shortcut so if it's meant to then whoops

Ahh, i haven't downloaded it yet but im sure in the future it might if it hasn't yet.

New Update coming out with a few bug changes, please remember that it takes a while for me to upload

Changes:

- added squirrel to app which means you get desktop shortcut it also means i can push updates it will auto-update (auto-update not in yet, will be in V.1.0.0)

- squirrel now means both installers work!

- new files added- you don't need to worry

- when installing the app a new loading gif will play! (made by https://giphy.com/derekfitzpatrick )

- NO MSI FILE ANYMORE!

 

All Current known Issues:

- login may not work??

 

When Live is Red changes aren't on GitHub, when it is green changes are on GitHub!
